What types of transfers can I request?

You can initiate the following types of transfers between Northern Trust accounts:

  • Transfer money between Northern Trust banking deposit accounts
  • Make a payment on a Northern Trust loan account from a Northern Trust banking deposit account
  • Take an advance on a Northern Trust credit line account into a Northern Trust banking deposit account
  • Purchase additional shares of a Northern Fund by transferring money from a Northern Trust banking deposit account
  • Redeem Northern Funds shares with proceeds transferred to a Northern Trust banking deposit account
  • Exchange shares between two Northern Funds accounts, including IRAs
  • Transfer between a brokerage account and a secondary linked banking account

In addition, you can set up electronic transfer instructions in order to:

  • Wire money (or send via ACH) from your Northern Trust banking deposit account to another financial institution
  • Transfer money (via ACH) from your account at another financial institution to your Northern Trust banking deposit account
