How do I make a loan payment?

You can make a payment on a Northern Trust loan using the Transfer page. A loan payment is a transfer from a banking deposit account (checking, savings, or money market) to a loan account.

  1. Under Banking in the top menu, select Transfer.

  2. Select the deposit account from which to make the payment.

  3. Select the loan account on which to make the payment, then click OK.

  4. Enter the amount of the loan payment. Enter dollars, or dollars and cents using the format 0 or 0.00.

  5. Specify when you want the transfer to occur. Do one of the following:
    • To submit the transfer immediately, leave Transfer Now selected.
    • To schedule the transfer for a date in the future, select the option to transfer on a future date. Enter (or use the calendar to select) the date when you want the transfer to be processed.

    • To create a recurring transfer, select the option to set up a recurring transfer. Enter (or select) the first date that you want the transfer to be processed. Select the frequency, and for occurrences, enter the number of times you want this transfer to occur or select unlimited occurrences.
  6. Click Continue on the Transfer page. The Verify Transfer page appears.

  7. Review the transfer information, then do one of the following:
    • To modify the transfer information, click Change.
    • To cancel the transfer request, click Cancel.
    • To submit the transfer, click Submit.

  8. After you have clicked the Submit button, the Transfer Confirmation page appears, indicating that your transfer request is complete.

To print the confirmation page, use the Print feature in your browser.

On the confirmation page, take note of the reference number, a unique number assigned to the transaction. You can use the reference number to find the transfer on the Transfer Status page.
