How do I learn more about charitable giving?

To assist you in planning your charitable giving, Private Passport provides detailed information about non-profit organizations. You can research organizations using our charity search engine provided by Guidestar.

GuideStar's database includes information on all IRS-registered 501(c) nonprofit organizations that may accept tax-deductible contributions.

You can search for an organization by keyword or name, activity, city, state, zip code, nonprofit type, revenue range, employer identification number, or NTEE code.

To search for a nonprofit organization:

1. Click Private Advisor in the top menu, and then click Giving.
   
2. Do one of the following:
   • Enter a full or partial organization name, and click Go.
   • Click Advanced Search to refine your search.
     
     The Search Results page displays links to organizations' reports in the Guidestar database. Icons indicate what kind of information is available about an organization.
