How do I add Passportfolio® accounts?
Private Passport's Passportfolio® enables you to view
information for accounts you hold at other institutions together with
your Northern Trust account information.
From the Passportfolio® home page, you have three ways
to add accounts held at other institutions:
- My Passportfolio@
For online accounts held with other institutions that you want to add
to Private Passport, you must already have online access setup with
the provider. If you have online access, simple locate your provider
name and enter your ID and password only once and then Passportfolio@
automatically obtains balances and historical activity nightly for these
accounts. After successfully adding the provider, you can view these
accounts together with your Northern Trust accounts on the Financial
Summary. You can add banking, credit cards, loans, mortgages, investment
and reward accounts.
Once you have added an account using Passportfolio@, you can access
transactions on the History reports, view holdings on the Asset reports,
and view general account information on the Profile page.
- Portfolio with Holdings
Manually enter a portfolio of securities with holdings detail.
You can then track the market value of these assets using current prices.
- Other Assets and Liabilities
Enter other assets and liabilities which may include off-line accounts
such as your personal property, jewelry, real estate, boats etc. by
manually entering a description, value, and other optional information.
Passportfolio® accounts appear with your Northern Trust
accounts on the Financial Summary. You can view My Passportfolio® account
information on the Profile page, transactions for these accounts
on the History page, and holdings on the Portfolio Holdings page.
To add an
account using My Passportfolio®:
- Under Financial Summary in the top menu, select Passportfolio®.
- Click the My Passportfolio® link or My Passportfolio from the top
menu bar.
- If this is the first time you are using Passportfolio®, read the Terms
and Conditions, then click Continue.
Read the Privacy Information, then click Accept.
The My Passportfolio® page appears. You can add accounts by selecting
or searching for your financial institution or service provider. Once
you have added accounts using My Passportfolio®, they appear under Passportfolio
Provider & Account Management where you can manage the accounts.
- Do one of the following:
- To list all of the available providers, select a category (banking,
brokerage, credit card, loans, mortgage, investments or rewards)
and click Go. A list of the providers
in that category appears.
- To search for the name of your financial institution or provider,
enter one or more words in the provider name, then click Search.
A list of the providers that match your search criteria appears.
Note: If
your provider is not listed, you can click the Don't see your provider?
Request to add provider link to request that the provider is added.
Make sure to include the address for the site you would like to
add and the type of accounts you would like to view for this provider.
- Click the provider name.
- On the next page (Provider Access Information) enter your ID and password
for online access to the selected service provider's site. Note:
If your provider requests additional login information to give you access
to your accounts, we will request this information from you to gain
access to display your account information for you on Private Passport.
If at anytime you have questions about the information we are requesting,

- Click Continue. Passportfolio® gathers
initial information about your accounts from the selected provider.
This may take several minutes. When completed, the Confirmation page
appears listing the accounts associated with the ID you entered for
that provider.
